With the dowry that her parents had set aside for marriage, Weill launched the careers of 100's of artists, including; Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse as well as these lesser-known female artists Emilie Charmy, Hermine David, and Marie Laurencin ( I highly recommend looking at their incredible paintings). Despite Weill's remarkable contributions to the world of Fine Art, she remains a "footnote" in most history books. Check out Karen Chernick's article to find out more about this visionary, courageous, and overlooked woman.
