"You can't just spa-day your way out of it!" Why are women so stressed out?

Why are middle-class gen-exer women in America increasingly stressed out? Ada Calhoun's latest book, "Why We Can't Sleep; Women's New Mid-Life Crisis" explores the data, trends (such as housing costs and divorce), and talks to women about what's going on.


Calhoun says that adding to the pressure, women are bombarded with messages that they should "have it all", "know it all" and "do it all" and, do it all "calmly", "serenely" and "mindfully". She says this all of this is making women miserable.


One thing Calhoun suggests as an antidote is seeking out community and connecting with other women. “I think when you’re getting in a room with other women on a regular basis, really wonderful things happen," Calhoun says,
